Why Now & Why Us

At the National Women’s History Museum, we believe that when women’s voices are heard and their stories are seen, it transforms both how women view themselves and how the world views them.

At the National Women’s History Museum, we believe that when women’s voices are heard and their stories are seen, it transforms both how women view themselves and how the world views them.

Every time you learn or share women’s history, you help shift the narrative and expand what is possible for both women and men. Right now, that gap in representation spans 106 years, meaning it could take more than a century before women are equally reflected in our national story.

Together, we can begin to close the gap.
